Xj air con evaporator

Howdy,
would anybody know if all the XJ evaporators are the same, need to replace mine and have been quoted about $500 for a new one, I was thinking to get one from a wrecked XJ,

good question. The pre-update (94-96) shows as a different Part num than the Post update 97-98 in my Parts Manual

Likely the best indication is in the big catalogue that auto elec/aircon guys have, it should say what year the part fits, and yes they are about $500 for a evaporator or condensor

Interestingly, the parts manual does not show a difference between LHD/RHD for the evap (that I could see)

Rock Auto website may be helpful

I can say that the hoses are handed, and no longer available...custom hoses needed if yours are stuffed

see excerpt from '98 parts manual

part num is the same EXCEPT, there are 2 part nums, designated by code

JT or BU...I cant figure that out yet
