I actually have got the off road pages to now work. I had to copy the DRM file from the same place I got the off road pages xlet and now they work. Well sort of when I go to the select terrain page the screen is blank in the middle where it should be showing the pitch and roll. So still need to fix that.

I've noticed the TTS is terrible on the uconnect nav. It does a terrible job of pronouncing and only says the first word of the street name. Any ways to improve this? Thanks

Question Stuck on Activating Navigation

Apologies for the long post and this is probably going to look pretty c**p if viewing on a phone.
Three days off of work with a cold has given me a chance to give the navigation hack a go. Unfortunately being johnny come lately means that a lot of the example scripts have disappeared from their respective cloud services. I thought I could work out what I needed to do from what was still available but I am now stuck on the Activating Navigation Screen; so this is a quick shout out to anybody that might be able to point me to what I need to do differently.

In summary:
- I have a 2016 GC Laredo that has had it's Navigation activated via Ebay a couple of years ago.
- Samsung SIII successfully 'rooted' and igo maps bought.
- productid has been tried set at both VP3 and VP4; is currently VP4
- Naviserver2 is copied across
- navRestart.sh and nav.sh modified and copied across
- original Australia maps, dem, poi, phone etc deleted, non Australia left in place
- new Australia maps, dem etc uploaded
- original .lyc files removed and igo .lyc files copied across - only .lyc files were changed

below are truncated excerpts from my file system dump after the most recent attempt

Okay,

1. Can you confirm Naviserver2 version is coming up in your settings. It’s a different version. Check xda developer forum to confirm match. Note: (From memory)
Naviserver2 is not in same file location as the other 2x mod files to point to the Naviserver2 location, can you recheck please. once you confirm Naviserver2 ver is coming up then move on. As you just have a .lyc and basemap file issue.

2. Map files, I don’t see a base map file! again, insert a basemap file as may stop it from firing up.

So fix and confirm 1. First please, then I can help you with a basemap file Trouble shooting if you don’t have one.

Just grab Leighm0’s scripts to check your work locations so the unit is firing up Naviserver2. If stuck will picture my version. https://mega.nz/#!9gkQhTiR!6anymlEx7...QOy2JjpDodcBJk as I suspect you have this already.

Unfortunately, no, NaviServer is showing as undefined. I note you say that Naviserver2 should be ina separate directory to nav.sh, and navRestart.sh. Can you confirm what directories each should be in as my research of various script.lua had them all going in /fs/mmc0/app/bin. The relevant part of my script.lua follows:

-- copy modified nav files to car
--os.execute("cp -f /fs/usb0/modified/NaviServer2 /fs/mmc0/app/bin")
--os.execute("cp -f /fs/usb0/modified/nav.sh /fs/mmc0/app/bin")
--os.execute("cp -f /fs/usb0/modified/navRestart.sh /fs/mmc0/app/bin")
--os.execute("chmod 755 /fs/mmc0/app/bin/NaviServer2")
--os.execute("chmod 755 /fs/mmc0/app/bin/nav.sh")
--os.execute("chmod 755 /fs/mmc0/app/bin/navRestart.sh")

Basemap and non Australia map files were left untouched; however I am happy to revisit this after I get the NaviServer2 running. (I should point out that fat fingers on my behalf has meant that I no longer have copies of

CMC_VP3_ROW_MY15_C_2013Q4_DUMMY3.lyc
CMC_VP3_ROW_MY15_C_2013Q4_PROD_IA3.lyc
not sure if this is going to impact the solution once we get to sorting out maps and licenses.

Yeah I have 16.13.13 which is what I primarily used to develop my script. I think if we can NaviServer2 happening I should be well on the way.

Thanks again

Okay, can see only map and license issues here. Sorry you have correctly loaded NaviServer2 and yes, it's stuck in undefined as held up in licensing so is working as planned. Its certainly a license and possibly a basemap issue.

1. You need to clean up and remove all old maps etc. in the five folders and only load the IGO maps etc for Australia. Forget New Zealand to make this a clean install. Currently you have left the Rest of World Maps ROW, and they are looking for another .lyc file that is not there so highly possible conflict. Clean up first and you may have success automatically, if not then 2.
2. Basemap, I cannot see it in your map folder dump and some users have trouble like you, so remove your old and load my basemap set as confirmed working into your map folder please. I know you said you have left the basemap so if not working then replace with mine. I believe I suffered the part you are in with basemap.
https://mega.nz/#!q7QmBSQb!s6tk5j9tS...aXU3rFCYXtZj7o
3. License folder. I have 2 x Navigation PMU, 2 x Premium, 2 x Safety and 1 DEM with the associated 0 Byte Activation_codes and magic.txt just left.
Followed by base lyc and nng file. (you have them so should be fine)

The old lyc file mentioned as lost, well one is a dummy just found in all units and the second would have been the ebay activated one perhaps, both are not needed and useless.

By remove, just dump a copy to USB for now and keep your old basemap files, but end of day the only files you will ever need are off the phone, plus my basemap.

If all this fails then, I just switch product id back to VP3, then look at NaviServer version and then switch back to VP4 as a way of checking as a VP3 will not fire it up into undefined stuck in a process from memory
