Default Bilstein 5100's

Hi there

Does anyone run Bilstein 5100's in their Jeep?
I know a lot of people run Old Man Emu but I am looking for reviews of the 5100's specifically.
Are they stiff? How do they compare to the stock suspension?

Thanks in advance.

I have them on m y JK wrangler.... ride is much better. They replaced OMEmu ones which were very good for hard off-road work but were a bit harsh on road. I have found Bilstein 5100 to be a good compromise on and off road.

Well I had the 5100s and when they worked they worked well, but failed spectacularly. When I did my lift on my JKU I installed them and after about two or three off-road trips the rubber boots gave me the S%€*s and dirt would be a pain to clean out. I had two shock failures and I don’t really do hard core wheeling mostly beach driving with a small amount of bush/ rock crawling....

I replaced them with OME BP51s and the difference is night and day between them... I really love that I can dial in my own settings for how I want the car to handle or ride and are certainly a much beefier shock! It’s just a shame our “Aussie made” is so expensive.. another thing I like about the BP51s is that they are completely rebuildable....

Hope that helps

Got my kit installed yesterday. The ride is noticeably stiffer than before but that's to be expected as the stock ride is very soft. It's still comfortable though and I am happy with it.
A lot less body roll and handling definitely feels more controlled.

Best part is the shock knocking noise I had before is completely gone!!

I’ve heard that many times about the Lovell kits being very stiff and harder on the road... glad it works for you

Tired of online sellers. After keeping my money for 2 weeks, they email today saying they can't supply the suspension. What a real PITA!!!!

Then they asked if I wanted a full refund? "nah, keep my money guys, after all the hard work you've done!!!"

Anyone recommend a good suspension supplier that will supply a lift kit for 2015 JGC petrol limited? The truck has done 150,000 ks so will be looking to replace all the shocks.

I think its the nivomat suspension that seems to be the problem. Does all aus JGC use nivomats other than the air suspension brigade?
