Is it true that if you make changes using ALFA OBD, you cant go back to the setting/ configuration prior to the change.
Im pretty sure it was on Alfa OBD website, could be wrong just asking the question, cheers

Be careful though, I've read how people have changed "vehicle type" or "brand" etc and it shows up on their dash as a Dodge or whatever you've chosen but mucks up all sorts of other things and is a ball ache to change all the little settings back.

just bought the alfaobd app and put on my samsung tablet and bought a bluetooth dongle brand “Response” from Jaycar which uses Elm327 software.
Appears to connect but have not got right into the program yet.
A word of warning, i also wanted to out an app on my iphone and looked at the manual for the Response dongle, it recommends 3 programs, obd2 and torque pro , be careful as when i found these under google apps got stung! one of these
apps is a scam and comes up as a car loan calculator, the torque pro one started asking you a whole bunch of personal data before you can use it.
Scammers , scum of the earth!!

You need a good and preferably one of the recommended OBD dongles for Alfa to work, I read somewhere it's something about its ability to switch internally or something thereabouts.

One can but assume that the Apple App site is buggy, I have been using the Torque Pro app for probably 10 years now and they never ask any questions regarding your details, but then I use Android and Apple are reknowned to wanting to know the ins and outs of a turkeys backside thats why I never use Apple stuff.

He's searching under Google Apps so the apps he tried were not Apple mate. Apple tech is great - I've been using Apple macs since 1986 and iphones since the first one came out. Awesome products with great backup. For this exercise, the best programs IMHO are AlfaOBD and Appcar DiagFCA with an obdlink mx+ dongle. I have all three of these, AlfaOBD being the better overall as it is NOT just licenced to one vehicle which is great, whereas Appcar DiagFCA has a more polished look to it but is only licenced for one vehicle.

Since he said looking for an app for his iPhone I took it as a given re the app store, each to their own regarding preferred OP Systems, just never been an Apple lover but I must agree with the AlfaOBD being good for price and Ive only used the demo so far, haven't required a need for the full app yet........ if it all works I'm happy, I leave sleeping dogs lie nowadays........... computers and cars.
