As above the oil pump was never the issue.
The issue they are known for is the lifter failure issue. First thing you need to decide is if it actually is an issue to you. Failures depending on where you source your numbers from, only effect 5 percent or less. Then when you take into consideration the literally hundreds of thousands of these engines fit to all the different models including the ram and it's sister engine the 5.7 the problem is not that much more significant than most engine manufacturers of one make or another.
