Finished I just have to adjust it when it gets dark

Edit Much Later and More Beers Later ...... The lightbar is adjusted And I found a 4 inch lift kit on jeep parts facebook group for $300 the kit has all the gear just needs shocks and bushes I contacted the seller to work out a deal as it would have to freighted up to me ... Just have to see how things go?
Which one would get lifted you might ask?
I dunno yet? All I know if I get it .. it will get rebushed cleaned and painted and put in the shed for a while as wheels and tires are part of the equation ....
see what happens

4" lift kit is a lot. Sport already has a 1" lift kit over limited.
You will introduce a lot of vibes in drive line. Rear will need a slip yoke eliminator, and front will need adjustable control arms to rotate diff so that alignment is within 1 degree of drive shaft.
Im not saying don't do it, but anything over 2" starts to introduce a whole can of worms and more cost/adjustments/parts.

Cheers,

I did not think of that last night Alex .. But anyway the guy is not interested in sending it to me so I wont be worrying about it Bummer what a dream I had after a few beers ....
"Sport already has a 1" lift kit over limited" .. not at my place the Limited already has a 2" lift and is much higher than the Sport in the past I have measured them wheel center to arch ground to roof all that
Zenon bulbs for the 96 and the injector cleaner has arrived I will gradually get all my bits and pieces together for the 96 lighting upgrade
Anyway I can dream on .. I got 2 XJ's to play with

Well I drove both today we took the dog out bush in the 96 and then I had to run around to do a few things so I took the 99 to get some injector cleaner through it ...................
The 99 is a pig to start it is choking and today when I stopped I had a mate with me and we both commented on the Smell? The car is sluggish and the header rattles I have had my suspicions for a while and google backed me up tonight The Cat is Clogged!
So I might get a cat off ebay about $145 and try that So the 96 lighting upgrade might have to wait a bit
I have to inspect the system to see if all the pipes are solid and its worth fitting or do I knock the guts outa it and wait until I get to Bris at the end of the year ...

Just unclamp the stock cat, bash the guts out, chuck it back on. No one will ever know, and it'll run great... Ask me how I know

I love how easy they made it on these heeps to do that, no welds to worry about!

If you gut the cat, try not to inhale the dust. Having no guts in the cat doesn't seem to bother a 96 model, the 99 might be different. I read somewhere that a 2000 threw codes when the cat lost it's guts.

Crap, you're right. Do the OBD2 XJ's have a post-cat o2 sensor as well? An empty cat would definitely throw a code. On the bmw's we have to put in an L shaped extension off the o2 sensor bung to alter the flow enough to fool the ecu into thinking everything is still doing fine once you've deleted the cats.
