Couldn't agree more, cutting out the oily air or the soot from the EGR is the most economical way to remove the problems it causes, in the WG I stopped the soot electronically for $2 wish I could do it on this Italian engine but stopping the oily air does work well and as I did in my Colorado (same engine make) the intake was just dusty not treacle and this Jeep seems to be the same now after giving it a clean up and fitting a catch can, camera in inlets isn't coming out covered in tarry crud just dry soot which is better than before, I keep searching European sites in case someone gets a fix like for the MB 2.7 engine doubt a Yank could ever do one.

I have often wondered if you rerouted the EGR inlet from the air box not the exhaust would it send codes but that would be a bustard of a job.

A Lotto win would certainly have it in for an EGR delete for sure.

Default EGR Cooler orings

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has successfully found a local replacement for the orings from the middle of the EGR cooler. Mine are leaking and wondering if anyone knows the exact size and if they have sourced from auto store??
Otherwise will order from US just trying to do local if possible as should be an easy fix. Thanks

Have a look at this and see if you can see what the parts number is and might be able to hone in more details for you.....

Thanks Drover. On the same page. Have identified from same pick. It’s 22 and 24. Can order them from the US and pretty cheap but thought I’d see if anyone has used local sources. Prob not worth the fuss might just order. Thanks

If you had them on the bench I would just go to a hydraulic shop but how about giving this mob a bell they just might have them or at least have more info... the basic engine isn't a Jeep thing .
