Radiator replacement - 4 and 6 cyl differences.
Just a note for anyone searching for info (this is relevant to models up to 2018 - not sure about later than that tho):
On the USA forums there's info that the V6 radiator can be replaced WITHOUT pulling the whole front end apart and discharging and disconnecting aircon hoses and pipes etc. - it's a do it yourself type job.
On the 4 cylinder - the front end and aircon DO need to be pulled apart - so a bit beyond what most people are gonna be able to tackle themselves.
A couple of years ago we got RIPPED OFF by the people from a local cooling system repair company who did our V6 TH by pulling the whole front end and aircon system apart for access when apparently thats NOT necessary on the V6.
I decided to see what it would cost to have it done "professionally" before deciding whether to tackle it myself - and was told that it needed the aircon discharged and lines pulled off as well as the front crossmember etc. removed - so on that basis I just handed it over to them. It cost $1600 in labour and ever since, I can't get the headlights aimed properly laterally (will probably have to get into their mounting lugs to reposition a bit or something).
Also for over a year after the new radiator was fitted it was requiring regular topping up of coolant. We took it back to them TWICE and were told it was all good. Eventually I discovered the idiots had fitted a 17psi coolant tank cap instead of the correct 21psi cap - causing it to boil quite often after shut down (blowing coolant out thru the overflow). Fitted the proper cap and she's been all good since and thank god no signs of damage being caused.
