Default How does the road side assist work interstate?

I have the most basic plan with RACQ and the callout and tow distance is 65 km only. I live in sunshine coast and what happens if I break down in coffs harbour? would they just say you are out of our range? or they have third party there?

You ring the racq as normal and they will organise the tow.
Tow will be to the closest repairer. If it’s over the 65km then you will probably have to pay a fee but that is policy dependent.
My AANT policy gives 300km towing but also has a $ amount that can be used for towing, accommodation etc.

What shep said. The 65km bit is how far they will tow at no charge to a repairer.

If you travel a bit, consider upgrading the basic RACQ to something more comprehensive with RACQ.

If it's a new Vehicle then Jeep have 5 years roadside assist included, all be it , it's only a 100km towing distance.
Or even Lifetime assist, if you get it serviced once a year at a stealership.

Quote:
Roadside Assistance - Every New Jeep
Every new Jeep comes with Roadside Assistance included for the entire duration of your vehicle's warranty.

For 24/7 support just call: 1800 102 277.

We'll assist you with flat batteries, emergency fuel, flat tyres, lost or locked keys, towing and transportation costs, caravan and trailer assistance, accident coordination, emergency accommodation, car rental, alternative transportation coordination, vehicle relocation coordination, urgent message relay, cancellation or rebooking of travel arrangements, or medical advice.

Roadside Assistance membership is provided by AWP Australia Pty Ltd ABN 52 097 227 177 trading as 'Allianz Global Assistance' ('Allianz Global Assistance'). Whenever you request roadside vehicle assistance under your membership, you will be making that request to Allianz Global Assistance, who will provide the services on the terms and conditions set out below. The terms and conditions contain exclusions and limitations.

Lifetime Roadside Assistance when you service through Jeep
Every time you service your Jeep at an authorised Jeep dealership, you'll receive an additional 12 months roadside and can continue to do this for the lifetime of your vehicle.

We value every single Jeep customer and as such, Lifetime Roadside Assistance is available to all Jeep owners - and we mean all.

Even if your Jeep has missed a few services or is more than 10 years old, you're still entitled to Lifetime Roadside Assistance. All you need to do is return to an authorised Jeep dealership and complete a scheduled service for your vehicle (according to your Service & Warranty Handbook), to enjoy the benefits of an additional 12-months Roadside. With Service Activated Roadside Assist, much of the Roadside Assistance program you receive with a new vehicle is still intact - although there are reduced benefits in some areas; e.g. the towing limit is reduced to 100km and emergency accommodation under this program only allows for 1 day / night. Please check out our Terms & Conditions (below) for more details. We know this class leading Lifetime Service Activated Roadside Assist Program will ensure you have continued peace of mind.

If you're planning some serious adventures, you can also choose to purchase a Jeep Roadside Assistance branded product to increase your benefits to the same level as our new vehicle Jeep Roadside Assistance.
