Oh ! thats a bugga for sure what a stupid mistake they made, I bought my set up from FWD1 as they would make up the front struts for me, something I was not going to do, they also rang me to confirm I had a diesel, most impressed with them.... I have about 65kgs hanging off the front and with the diesel springs fitted my front sits at about 520 (original 490) and rear about 545 (510) mind my front is 8 kg over axle weight............... I would certainly imagine a steel bar and winch would cause a bit of sag with the petrol springs over time, the thing being I wouldn't want to push the lift more than 55mm over original and thats the measurement in brackets above, you start to put extra load on uni and CV's then...... from sag height mine got a near 89mm lift at the front so the front sag was about 45mm probably as bad as too much lift.

I would say going the Dobinsons or Kings with a steel bar and winch would be the go, front sitting around the 535 once it all settles down would be the goal, anymore and you would be causing conflict with the rear I think....but keep in mind the heights given are unloaded so may not make any difference than the Ironman for height once fitted....... I have actually found Supercheap to have the best prices for King Springs as I got a set for a mates Colorado, saved heaps.

thanks Drover. I just got measurements from Kings for KJFR-43. 445mm. I'll take a look and compare. My front measurements centre hub to top of guard are 490mm so almost standard so looks like starting to sag.

I'm curious now did they fit the spacers to your Nivomatts and what springs did you go for on the back ??? The up to 300kg or the constant ones. ??

The up to 300kg. I think that was the issue. When I was looking they said the rear constant load was a bumpy ride and as I had no bar or winch at the time I was sold a kit as opposed to the pieces individually.

They certainly didn't read the description, I still have a print out and it clearly states Petrol while the other states Bull bar/winch /diesel, I have the same rear springs as you, they ride well even with a full load with 280kg on the ball and they don't sag as the Nivomatts keep it all level, I think the Kings or Dobinsons would be okay on the front, so long as you can get a set and someone to fit them, certainly not possible unless you have a 10ton press, its a prick of a job even then....make sure the fitter knows how to remove the struts properly as they can be done without dropping axles/hubs..... The yoke does come apart so the upper part can be removed without dropping an axle.

I take it your referring to the aftermarket ones
stock require dropping axles/hubs dont they?

was going to try just pulling axles and top balljoint hopefully that lets things drop enough to avoid having to do the hub nut
