Default 2007 2.8 CRD Timing Belt Tool Kit?

Hi All,

Just wanted to see if anyone has a timing belt tool kit collecting dust that they'd be willing to lend or sell?

I'm in the Sydney area, but more than happy with postage as well.

I don't trust these cheap kits on ebay/Amazon and it seems like something that might be on a shelf somewhere in the collective here.

Thanks in advance.

Keep your eye out for one thats for a RG Colorado 2.8lt, same engine, change your water pump at same time as you certainly don't want to revisit, I also replaced the adjuster idler pulley.............. I had a good look at it all and gave it to a spanner man as I just couldn't be stuffed doing it, easy job to change belt its the rest of the stuffing around.... I doubt the Jeep will be much different than the 'Olden.

I was going to hire from this mob as making my own could have been problematic but for an extra $400 in labour let someone else do it..... http://www.midnightmods.com.au/zen-c...kva4inqjulbam1

I sold mine ages ago, you could try messaging or contacting Cmohr (Brisbane), I know he had one. Your problem is no one reads this forum anymore.

LOST forum in the US might turn one up. You can make some of the tools, like the intake and exhaust cam, and flywheel, locking pins. There was an old thread on that.
I would suggest you just buy the kit online, but from a reputable in supplier, maybe IDParts.
Truth is your not going to get out of this mess without spending some money, might as well have the right tools.

The cam locking pins can be made from bolts. Just need to spend some time with an angle grinder if you dont have access to a lathe. You could join a men's shed that has metal working equipment. The flywheel one can be done with a piece of thick fencing wire. The main things are not to force anything, dont use the tools as a means of holding while you do things up. They are only locating devices. Best to mark locations of cams, fuel pump & crank with a scribe or liquid paper marks. Probably you can find on here some where exact dimensions of each of them.

Thanks all, took the plunge and bought the kit from a reputable place. Works well.

Didn't want to spend hours gambling on me grinding down bolts, but I like the ingenuity.
