I went through all this 6 months ago.Started off with the cheapest fix ,clean EGR,new PCV, glow plugs even though not showing any codes.Had leakdown test on injectors etc they appeared ok.Bit the bullet and got new rebuilt injectors from
Bosch agent in Germany.Fixed the problem immediately plus vehicle ran much smoother and better fuel, consumption.

ughh, they costed a crapton of money to "repair"....(i could also pursue the workshop that did it...)

¿do you have the latest mopar part # for the injectors, just to find out...?

edit: oh another question, ¿how do you do a compression test?, i don't see that jscan has the option to do the ECU integrated test, ¿do you remove the FP relay, then the injector fuse and then the GP module power input cable and just crank away?

They are Bosch injectors.Just google injectors for OM642 Mercedes motor.
or or 2006 -10 Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel motor. The PCV valve unbolts easily
Very hard to get the top off mine to check plastic flap valve.Really would not
say this was the problem .Again my two bobs worth is glowplugs or
injectors as you say problem goes away when warm. Also check injector
return line connections on top of the injectors are not leaking. Common
problem .

Hi.
The appcarDiagFCA tool is only $49. If you consider that expensive then you have picked the wrong car to run.

Would replacing the injector nozzle invalidate the existing code? Anyone?

i bit the bullet on jscan(i'm still not very convinced, it's lacking several things like proper datalogging and a LOT of output tests, for example using the demo it shows injector deactivation, but on the live car i have no such option) and decided to check the injector coding, lo and behold all of them were scrambled as the mechanic that installed them didn't bother to put them back on their original socket.
So i did a re-coding and pcm fuel trim reset, car started and appeared to smoke almost nothing... until a couple minutes passed and it kept gassing -a little less than original, but still a lot of smoke enough to leave a plume on the street-, so no dice...

i'll be opening a more general thread about my car once i gather more info, it's being challenging to say the least.

@brit, 50usd is expensive for my country
