While checking out the JScan product I found this Haynes product, digital manual but it does cover the 3lt diesel EXF, pity the printed one doesn't...... if your going to read codes and check on stuff then a Workshop Manual is a must .

Once you've connected to the car using your OBD dongle, first thing is to download the 'Enhanced OEM Add-Ons' - which you can do through the settings options. This will provide access to the GC specific PID's.

Then through the dashboard function, you can add the PID's. Hit menu on the top right > add display > select gauge type > select PID > Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo > Engine Control Module (Diesel) > search for the PID you're looking for.

Note - the 'Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo' PID option appears with the 'Enhanced OEM Add-Ons'. If you haven't completed this step, you won't be able to see the Jeep specific PID's.

I've attached some screen shots for each step below John. Hope that helps, sing out if you have any questions.

Pete.

Thank you heaps for your help. Got some good regen info today.

Another option is to use Torque Pro with a custom dash screen to keep track of the DPF. I also have Alpha OBD but it is not really setup to run without lots of input everytime you turn the car on.

Torque pro also allows you to setup custom PID's to display DPF as a %
It also has audible alarms that can be triggered by whatever parameters you set. I have two setup one is for coolant temp above 110C and another for voltage below 12.8.

I use both a BlueDriver and the JScan, both with their own dongles. They were both quite cheap from memory.

i don't know what the Alpha OBD reader can do, but the JScan reads all the Chrysler Jeep modules plus Jeep Wranglers and many other makes if you wish, allowing all sorts of changes to be made and of course live readings to be had such as DPF status...

I also set up the SRT dash in my diesel along with all the SRT specific gauges, such as oil pressure, intake air temp, Engine oil temp, transmission oil temp, battery voltage...even engine KW and Torque readouts while driving...and...a timer for 1/4 mile drag racing if you wish...as well as a "G Force" readout!

That might be good while off road I s'pose, bit like the old "inclinometers" fitted to some Jap 4wd's to let you know when you are about to roll over on to your side...lol

Things like Tyre diameters can be changed / updated as well should you fit bigger tyres to keep the speedo reading right...as pretty well every other variable you can find.

It won't do a tune though...lol
