Default Overland Entry/Exit suspension question/recommendation

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this has been discussed before but I am guessing nobody has. I've got a 2018 Overland and just turned off the auto entry/exit lowering when parking thinking that I might work it to much unnecessarily. Because when I am on my own I really don't need the car to lower that much except when I need to with certain family members and I can with a push of a button.

The other thing I was thinking was when the suspension lowers to its maximum, I can see on the EVIC or Off road pages it indicates the suspension going up a bit on all four sides due to the push down. Now leaving this overnight every day, would it cause more stress on the shocks/suspensions? Because I am thinking the normal height is where it physically sits normally and raising/lowering from this position is forcing it up or down and leaving it like that for prolonged periods? Or is is better for the suspensions/shocks to sit at entry exit height more than the normal height?

Or am I just thinking to much about this lol If you guys can put some light on this that would be great. Nothing is broken or anything but just want to do the best so I am trouble free for longer

You're right about the wear on the motor - that was part of the reason I turned mine of as well, also just not needing it at 6'4"...

In terms of component wear sitting at Normal vs Entry/Exit, I can't really think of any reason why the difference would be anything but negligible.

Just another drain on the battery/alternator which is not really needed I would have thought.......... If the motor has plastic gears I would shut it down for sure.....

Laredo, poverty pack...........

Makes sense just what I thought too. I think you are right when it might be only negligible different between normal and entry plus they must have catered for this when they developed it to be used like everyday. Have to admit the ride looks so good when parked on entry/exit level..I had one person walk up to me and say these things go real hard hey. I said yeah the diesel isn't bad it goes really good and then he realised it was not the SRT and thought it was earlier because the ride was at entry/exit height and saw only the front and sides

Yes this definitely would drain some electricity and hence I try to leave the engine running and not cut it off till it finishes the lowering whenever I do lower it. Definitely keeping it manual now use only needed.

The poverty pack is not bad because you don't have to worry about things like this and be stress free

In my WG the seat adjuster motor stripped its worm gear, simple to fix but what a pain to get at, once I got parts from US...still have some spares hope I don't have to see of the same motor is in these chairs...... never have crap on the floor behind the front seats or you too will find out the joys....

Only slightly stress free, still have enough things to stress about ....... lol,lol...
