Without going through my service history I cannot say for sure they they were done exactly on time but all have been done well under the Km’s, obviously. So not sure if that part would be retrospective.
I have read the PDS and it’s states I would be covered for everything in the “factory warranty”. Excludes fluids lost, damaged caused by overheating (that’s a tricky one), damage caused by continuing to drive whilst suspected problem (another tricky one) and obviously anything that has been caused by misuse.
It also covers (up to $400 each) towing, accomodation, hire car.
I’m most interested in case of a catastrophic failure, ie engine needs replacement. But, I agree about being sceptical of these things but it is being offered by the dealership itself. They have their name to this.
As a side note, I do have a small deposit on an Everest Sport but after seeing one in the flesh the other day I was left underwhelmed. My Jeep is 5 years old and has more “stuff” on it than the new everest. With the exception of the wiz bang electronic gadgets and some extra electronic safety devices. But The Jeep has plenty of that anyway, and it has air suspension which I love!
Not to mention all my accessories.
An upgrade to a new Ford will cost me approx $30k andI will need to accessorise it. Getting a $2100, 3 year (150,000km) Jeep warranty is very tempting for a vehicle that is barely broken in with 46,000kms on the clock.

There have been numerous complaints to many state based consumer affairs units re the selling of extended warranty and other types of "extended" car insurance. And all of them have been found to be a GREAT BIG CON!
So you want to pay $700 a year for an extended warranty cover worth nothing.... go ahead...make my day!!!
Better still, send me the money. I've got another trip coming up.
BEFORE you proceed with this really silly decision, make sure you read the fine print because I bet that there will be many, many exclusions, which will show you exactly how worthless these policies are.
Yes, well, I know I sound harsh but.... really?

Wow, I put this out there for discussion to hear some constructive feedback and get this. You must have got out on he wrong side of the bed this morning.

Yes, most of the parts covered for failure are oiled hence the requirement to meet basic service standards.
No big deal as the "Service & Warranty Handbook" that comes with the car outlines all the items that must be checked at service along with time frames they must be done.
If you don't follow at least the basic manufacturers recommendations for your vehicle then you leave yourself exposed to a denial of a claim even with the full manufacturers warranty.
From what I have read in the fine print there is no mention of them paying the labour costs to carry out a repair, but the failed parts are covered for replacement.
The "warranty" covers crankshaft and bearings, camshafts, con rods block, heads all internals in fact. Injectors fuel pumps, throttle body, Air conditioning compressor, condenser, evaporator, alternator, diff gears, gearbox internals, power steering components inc rack etc etc
Play the game absolutely, give them no reason to refuse a claim. The warranty claims in my case are limited to the value of the vehicle at purchase. It is costing me $400.00 a year to have it...$2 grand in total.
Lets face it, most of the service items are tick & flick. Being I over service my Jeeps no issue at all...it just means for me every 2nd oil change will be done by a workshop, I'll supply all the parts and oils so will set me back maybe an extra $100.00 twice a year to keep the warranty conditions intact.

You make some good points. I’ve read the PDS again and you are right, it constantly mentions “covered components” in bold letters. But nowhere does it mention labour costs, which we all know can be considerable more than the parts.
I’m going to ring on Tuesday and check all this out and if I go ahead will ask for clarification in writing. Getting cold feet now.

Definitely worth doing the due diligence, then you're in with eyes wide open. My third party warranty did cover all parts (on the list) and labour, and I was able to get the work done by my mechanic, not the dealer (perish the thought..).
Good luck, let us know what the outcome is re. labour costs and any experience you have if you buy it.

Certainly read the fine print, you don't want one that stipulates a figure in $ for any repair or that a certain place must do a service ................. I have never taken up any extended warranty or purchased one as they always seem to have a catch which I don't care for.......... If its an actual Jeep Warranty then okay once you read the fine but if its one thats provided by a third party on behalf of Jeep then give it a miss..... by Jeep I mean FCA/Stellantis not the dealer.

Nah. Out of bed on the right side everyday.
All of the feedback you have received is constructive, even if you don't like some of what has been said.
There are some situations from which it is worth running a mile away from as fast as you can... and in my experience and opinion, extended warranties/insurance on cars is one of them. You might not agree...it's your hard earned money, after all.

Just re read my PDS, the labour to replace the failed parts is included...
