Default Jeep price rises and deleted models

I guess Jeep is following the price increases of other brands like Toyota while reducing their model offering. Will the dealers meet the ambitious sales targets?

Was anyone here planning to upgrade?

I think a used JGC and JK/L Wrangler will now be fetching sales, greater than their purchase price.

Oh well... why would Jeep care? People still keep buying them, even when they were overpriced at least from 3 years back.

Interestingly you can see the beginnings of a downward shift in used car prices and used car sales by monitoring the various on line car selling companies. Some have even been hit by decreases in their share value because of this.

You could think that as things continue to return to pre-covid normal, new car prices etc will begin to shift downward. Whether this will happen is yet to be seen.

The increase in interest rates and the conspicuous debt that people have entered into, to buy incredibly large and expensive houses for a family of four, and cars and caravans and incredibly large 4x4 to pull them, and the fact that work has become risky, even for those who want to work, may well put a dampener on prices on everything including cars, if only because people will realise that they do not have the earning capacity to service their debt load and the real cost of living increases will eventually force them to modify their buying behaviour.

The thing is that in Oz without local car manufacturing and given that Australians are wealthy relative to the rest of the world, overseas companies can't do enough business here where they can basically charge what they like. Our so called consumer protection agencies tends to be nibbling rather than biting paper tigers.

There has been a significant scale down in engine size in most car models. I guess if the market becomes dominated by gutless cars, people may start to buy useless electric cars. Portable generators will become very popular & jerry-can sales may drop.
When there are 2ltr bi-turbo's that have done 500,000km including a lot of towing out there that have not needed rebuilding I will think about them. 9 speed transmissions wont go the distance.
When we have electrics that can do 600km at 110km/hr through hills with the lights & aircon going on a single charge, I will think about them.
Somehow, I cant see me thinking about them any time soon.

New jeep prices have become a joke. If they had base models that didnt have all the unnecessary bling & electronics, they could have a base model 1/2 the price of what they have on offer.

Just have to look at the chip shortage and well put layback "If they had base models that didnt have all the unnecessary bling & electronics, they could have a base model 1/2 the price of what they have on offer" Ford has so many chipless trucks stored they will be second hand before they ever get to market in fact I read they were starting to sell them with just enough chips to make them go at a discount and the option to come back in a years time to get all your unnecessary bling & electronics fitted
i have thought about getting a new car But no ... at least I can fix my old XJ's myself

I think the $20k price hike is probably factoring in the rising cost of shipping, .... if they can find a ship. If our dollar deteriorates (against the USD), that will make it even worse.
