I'm aware of the need to keep it 'lubed' and normally flick it on for a bit once a month in all my cars. Learnt that many years ago and it's kept them in good nick. My other cars are manual a/c so I'm used to controlling what happens, but maybe I'll let the Jeep fend for itself and leave it on auto. In mid summer it would be on much of the time anyway.

I may have it wrong, but in my experience it self adjusts to the preset temp by applying heating or fan cooling, but in a hot cabin it can only maintain 20 if you turn auto or manual a/c on, you then hear the compressor kick in.
This thing the other day was a complete aberration, and even more perplexing was the vents being in facia (panel) position, not floor or defrost which are the only positions that apparently wake up a/c in the background to avoid fogging. Anyway, it's a first world issue, so not losing sleep over it!

Nope, not at all promising, trip didn't happen mate . Everywhere we'd intended going had flooding so decided to put it back a month. Now still a mess out there and no real let up in sight, so looking like early '23. Coast in the meantime I think, not too bad down that way.

Mate....you will find if you set a temp...yours will behave in the same manner...I think they 'dubbed' it 'climate control' in other breeds....you said you run your a/c all the time, so you wont experience this...its not a 'level pack option'
