Shame it is so difficult to find a decent workshop that will properly work on Jeeps. When I had to have a Roadworthy done on the WH as it had NSW rego when I bought it, I took it to a mate of a mate to have it done...I did not know the bloke, he ran a workshop off the side of a Servo.
He did the Roadworthy no dramas, but his comment was he loves to see Jeeps drive in as the dollar signs start to roll around in his eyes!

I have had a local workshop I had used with a different vehicle previously, knock me back when i asked if he would do a timing cover seal one time on the WJ..."Nah, I don't work on Jeeps"...

Another local workshop ummed and arghed when I approached them to do the job, eventually relenting...and didn't stick to his quoted price either! I said I would even buy the tools if he didn't have them!!
They did the job but when they were to put the power steering pipe back on they called and told me it will be another day as they need to order a special "O"ring.

When I finally got the Jeep back I noticed the power steering pipe was leaking, so I checked it and found no "O" ring at all in the joint. A quick trip down the road, a couple of hundred metres from that workshop and I bought an "O" ring from Repco and fixed it.

Cracks me up, they will work on some over rated Japanese 4wd with all sorts of issues...but no siree, can't work on Jeep...

Like when I contacted one of those specialist workshops that tizzy up the Japanese 4wd's so they will pull the skin off a rice pudding...
When the bloke finally got back to me he said..."Nah, we don't do Jeeps"...I responded...so...you will only work on an underpowered and overrated Japanese 4wd?"
No response funnily enough...lol

For one thing getting a WSM like most other makes is damn near impossible nowadays, sourcing genuine parts is a long drawn out affair which could leave valuable floor space taken up for weeks while waiting, when they had Merc engines and boxes the wise spanner man knew a trip to the Merc dealer with the right number would have a part quicker, the big problem is having the gear to read the Chrysler codes, unless you are doing a goodly amount of Chrysler units its not worth the money ......... Places don't want to be ginning around and lots demand genuine parts so be a lot of hassle I imagine....
Tried to get a manual for my Colorado, absolute BS, a mechanic even told me if I could get one he would like a copy as they were hard to get.. I ended up using a manual on the engine for a Discovery, main bits the same and gearbox manual for V8 dunny door and some yank thing.............. my manual for the WG and this WK2 was difficult to find but I managed from the UK, electronic manuals are horrible things, I need to edit my pdf ones so I can just have stuff that relates to my engine and box, make things easier.............

If a mechanic slings off at a Jeep I walk away, never to return even with a different brand.... if he asks me about the how and why he will more than likely get the job, a couple of places have a CD WSM on the WG from me to assist in their work and a list of MB/Jeep part numbers, they were really chuffed as a MB dealer part dept will show you the door with a Jeep number but the scowl turns to a big grin when you give them the MB number...

...I don't think manufacturers these days really want buyers to ever have the knowledge to carry out their own vehicle repairs...they rather herd the punters to their Dealer workshops.
From our collective experience here, we know Dealers are a total waste of time and money...

EG; When I booked this Jeep in for the W58 recall, it was 3 weeks until they could see it. The girl taking the details said she had to make sure "THE" Technician was in that day. ONE bloke...the rest of the wrenches would be TA's or Apprentices doing basic servicing I guess.

That said, the Auto industry is suffering from the same cancer as every other industry in this country, no one wants to work, and if they do they want to paid 6 figure incomes as "appearance" money!
