Its actually for the Tranny in a WG as they came only with the tube, its flexy wire like that plastic coated curtain rod that springy minus the plastic with a brazzed bit at the bottom and a cap on top.... being thinner the oil doesn't wick up the stick and the level strays the same each time unlike the original....

If you Google universal dip stick just look at the pictures as the prices are just BS.......... wander into Bunnings get some curtain wire remove the plastic covering, solder up one end for a few inches, just melt some plumbers solder in a tin with a torch, dip the end of the wire into some flux or some acid, then put the end into the molten solder and quickly remove so it just seals up the grooves you don't want a big lump forming,a slight shake and you should have nice end on it, measure up against original dip stick, put the Hi and Lo marks on, cut to length and fit a cap or stopper so it stops at top of tube......... Of course its only mild steel but its not going to rust... I wouldn't leave it in the tube, use the original or it would probably get blown out even partially make a mess under the bonnet.

And this one keeps coming up....Engine Oil Capacity....this is from the '11-'13 model Owners Manual....NOTE: 5w-30 recommended in Manual was updated to 5w-40
Capacity for the engines in the '11-'13's is 8.4lts....which changed from '14 onwards...refer Owners Manual....which is 7.7lts('14's onwards) from a Google search of the Owners Manual.....interestingly they recommend Shell Rotella as the oil and the grade is 5w-40

So many things keep changing, reference a glove box book form 10 years ago doesn't seem to apply, latest I found was Mopar or Shell Rotella (which must be what the Mopar brand could be) with a MS-10902 which is CJ-4 and the oil capacity 7.7 lts.... but really you should fill to the dip stick/sight glass mark, never to a given capacity.... that goes for any fluid..................

I always look at recommended Brands in these books as product placement, its the spec that counts.

Rotella is good oil but good luck finding a reliable supply in Aus these days. interestingly, the diesel supplement service manual recommends Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 oil in Australia. It is neither CJ4 nor low SAPS. I'm currently running Penrite Enviro 5W-40, it is expensive and not a particularly good oil IMO. Looking for something better and available.

It has always been T6 Rotella mate, their is 5W-40 and heavier grades for trucks etc. But something happened on Ebay a few years ago with shipping of stuff like oil....that $216 price above is likely to have an absolutely absurd shipping cost.....often 4x the price of the item.
