Pretty well everything we buy in this country is made in China!
I did buy a couple of genuine Mopar fuel filters a while back to have a look at them...came in a box with Mopar on them, but also "Made in China" on the box...paying from memory close to $80.00 for them...totally over the top.

The ones I have in the Jeep now and on the shelf here are from Sydney Filters and are Sakura - manufactured by ADR...made in Indonesia it reads on the box.
They seem to be ok, look like some sort of heavy pleated paper filter element...haven't caused any issues so far. The "nut" on the base to spin them in is quite sturdy. I have had filters where the "nut" is quite thin and the socket can easily slip...

The wesfil i think are the best aftermarket ones ive seen so far.
Re the cars performance, i know what your saying , maybe a mind thing but for some reason if feels definitely like the engine seems to perform slightly better with the mopar fuel filters in it!
I notice most of the aftermarket filters have slightly less filtration area on them so not sure that would do anything or not.
Re the price of the Mopar filters,as said, absolute rip off, made in china for about
$1!!

I do know what you mean but I think its all in the mind, my son reckoned his car ran better on the premium, I didn't have the heart to tell him the last 2 tanks were just 91....
