Thats bonus info, 2 starters !!!!, surprising you found that out before it arrived, with your luck you shouldn't have discovered that till it was on the bench, lucky I think you went to AGC .........

Now for the gearbox....................

The 2x Starters thing was brought to my attention by the Workshop that has the vehicle....but.....also hired me the car.....multi-tasking in a small Community....he looked up the price and availibilty for me whilst I was 'signing the paperwork' for the hire car....I thought it related to Petrol or Diesel...nope...relates to Diesels.....he recommended I supply the VIN when ordering.....he also took down All Grands details for his businesses future Supply source....nice...Im happy I have promoted AGC and 'helped' both businesses like both have helped me......as to the 2x Starters.... I 'imagine' its because mine is '12 biult '13 branded model....the 'upgrade' at the end of '13 to the 8spd no doubt is the source of the 2x Starters.....remembering the '14 model began being biult in '13....there is info on just what ALL the details in the VIN relate to but Im not chasing that up...its a simple Google search for those interested....exactly how I found it years ago.
Part should be in the Workshop later today or before Lunch 2moz....the 'Myth' that parts for these buses are 'hard to find' is rubbish.....try contacting a Supplier that knows the product...not 'googling' the cheapest supplier, and the problems solved inside 24hrs in Metro areas and 2-3 days in remote areas....simplez

There is a lot of myths about parts for most Jeeps, when in reality its the dealer supply of parts thats hard, most bits are easily sourced if you look in the right places, same with all imports..

Interesting I can't find reference to another starter , I have 68080460AB listed as 11-16 and 68080460AA as 2011, a change in last letter doesn't mean anything major and the number still comes up as a part for mine.. didn't happen to get the number for this new one or old one in fact, just to add to my own listings ?????????????????

Will post the part number when I pick up the car...invoice from AGC should have it on it.
Interestingly enough the 'tooth' count varies....cant remember the actual numbers but it was something 'like' 9 and 12....DONT quote me....give me a day or so and I'll have the correct 'tooth counts' for both Starters and the Part No. for what went into mine.
Part went Ex-Melbourne via Express Post bag yesty arvo....hadnt arrived in Pt Lincoln just after Lunch today....plenty of Flights in and out of Lincoln in that time so not a Supplier issue....more a 'contracted' Airline/Oz Post thing....IF it was URGENT.....you can always have an item 'NEXT FLIGHT' sent....PREMIUM $$$$ but guaranteed to be on the NEXT FLIGHT into ANY location in Oz....simple as contacting a Courier Services and requesting the item be picked up and Lodged NEXT FLIGHT at ANY Airport....just remember....PREMIUM cost....you can 'start' around $500....freight ONLY....BUT...IF its URGENT...$500 'aint that dear'....havent been that Urgent in my life but have certainly performed the Lodgements and/or delivered the items that were.

Yeah plainly a big difference between the 5 spd & 8 spd box fitment. Would seem odd that there are more or less teeth on the starter ring gear? Why would that be...torque plate you would expect to be the same with same ring gear, but just with a different torque converter bolted on to suit.
Obviously many more changes between the upgrades than meets the eye...

Unsure Jeeper6.....only found out when the Workshop/Car Hire place looked up availibilty for a New Starter on his Parts Supplier screen that there were 2x types and VIN was crucial in ordering.....then....when I rang AGC to order the part Tam, Owner of AGC, asked me for my VIN...I said to him...2x Starters with different teeth counts ???....he answered yes.....luckily enough for me he had the type I required on the Shelf....and....stated Starter replacement was 'not uncommon'.....?????.....havent heard that one on here ????

The bastard thing on these, in particularly mine, is that the ground clearance is poor and even the Factory Underbody 'protection' (lol) negates any access to the Starter...the 'good old' tap with a 'solid object' is not an option when a Stater issue arises
