Default DROPING OUT?

A while ago I read a post on the problem some one had with their transfer case jumping out of low range? :D But seeing as though I didn't know I had the very same problem I didn't pay any attention (and thought you poor poor bastard HA HA HA)
Anyhow I had a look at the linkages (WHAT THE???)and pulled out my center console. On the very top of the gate whare the transfer lever travels, is a bolt on attachment. Which I thought I could cut out so the lever can travel another 10mm or so??
Any ideas???ANYONE...ANYONE

Default DROPING OUT?

Wolfe,
The problem isn't in the cab, it's the way the linkages work underneath. from memory there are 3 different pivot points each adding the the combersome nature of the shifter.
I do recall seeing an excellent tip somewhere, where the Jeeper have converted it so there was only one pivot point and was supposed to be a dream to fix - but I can't find it....
