Default Is Tech Chat worth it??

Tech chat is really important I believe; but it is vital that it is respected as a place for true subject-based threads in order to facilitate searching.

i.e. it would seem that a post here like "how do I tighten my handbrake?" would invite those who had concice and relevant technical information to contribute to a solution. I would suggest that such a post ultimately be renamed as the Handbrake Thread or some such... Then it would be the first and clearly the right place to search for the iBB's definitive answer to this problem.

Since these topics are generic and tend to have been covered to death in each iBB it is impoortant that any iBB that has genuine contributers store this information in a knowldege-base kind of way and furthermore retain it in a searchable and browsable way. This is what I understood the tech chat to be. This is infact what this forum is slowly becoming ... so I guess its fine!

BTW - I tightened the tensioner on the handbrake and the thing is firmer but still doesn't hold! DOes this mean that its something to do with the clearance in the drums?

I prefer the model specific only. I spend most of my time on JU for that reason. I would prefer Model Specific and off topic only.

Be nice to see amount of views too. Cant gauge how useful a topic is by the number of replies only.
