Default Driving Lights

I have the IPF 900s set as spread and pencil beam - what is the best approach for aligning them?

ie intersect distance, bias L/R for narrow beam, bias for spread up/down L/R ?? etc

I usually set up driving lights so that spread is on left side and pencil beam is on right
get out on a quiet road on real dark night (2 ppl) on to adjust while you sit in seat and look out screen Cover headlights up so only D/lights show on road set spread so that it illuminates what you want to see then cover it ans set up pencil beam to light up road up ahead where you want it to then go driving with all lights on and see if they are how you want them
It is strictly trial and error
My pencil beam hits road about 150 mtrs ahead of vehicle (base of pencil that is) and spread hits about where low beam hits road (personal choice)

Thanks Grant.

Do you angle the spread toward the left so that it sweeps more of the roadside, or should it be pretty straight to allow coverage of the entire road? (given that they must be off when another vehicle is in sight anyway)...

I usaully set them both up so that they are centered on my side of the road
pencil beam I have it hitting the road in line with the drivers side headlight and spread beam so that it is centered on my lane (that gives good coverage of whole road) spread beam is designed to light up the verge on both sides of the road
for off road use I have a set of (nightstalker) golfball lights 55watt angled at 45% to the vehicle so that they actually light up sides of road night drives they are fantastic as I can leave them on all the time as they do not annoy the driver in front of me
but like I said in original post set your lights up to suit you not anyone else
Put a set of zenon bulbs in the driving lights and see the vast improvement (white light)
