My XJ came with a alloy nudge bar, good for nothing more than holding spot lights. I had a accident and it did more damage than good and I would have been better off without it.

When it came to fixing the car it was cheaper for the insurance co to buy me a nice full steal ARB winch bar than to replace the nudge bar, stock bumper and all the plastic bits. I strongly recommend the ARB bar, I hit a tree at 40km/hr and unless u measure the distance between the bar and the nose panel on each side you wouldnt even know.

Cost is around $1,000 installed, the nudge bar was going to cost $600 to replace. Extra $400 get the ARB..

I've been researching the bonnet vents ever since I saw the artice Grant posted. Finally bit the bullet and ordered some Cosworth vents from Sydney Special Vehicles, they were $135 and $11 shipping. These ones are heat resistant and the measurements are about 300mm by 200mm and 5mm high and have the mesh included. I've got a mate who's a panel beater and said he would put them in for free, said it wouldent take more then an hour, I just have to pay for them to be painted.

You can get some slightly smaller Cosworth ones as well 193mm x 265mm but I figured the larger ones would be better. I'll have them mounted toward the rear of the bonnet, toward the windscreen in each corner of the bonnet. Will put some pics up when done.

Looked into the cheaper ones but bit the bullet.

Default Go Jeep - thanks

For the heads up on the bumper. I would love to get that instead of the nudge bar, but like the seller, I will have a hell of a time getting approval for it from the missus.

Great web site by the way. Will be checking it many times in the future.

Cheers

for what it's worth mafesto, I have a nudge bar with spotties on the Grand, however, they are NOT visible from the driver's seat.
Is the XJ nudge bar visible from the driver's seat? If not you have a better argument to go for the full bull bar.

I don't think the XJ nudge bar is visible. UNLESS you mount some big ass spoties and cb aerials on it!
