Default Seat Belt Woes

Has anybody got a spare passenger side seat belt.
I have tried the quick fix with heap of lube in the side
Time to get a new second hand one that works....

Whoa there mate - forget the lub - if it's just constantly locking up it's an easy fix.

Remove the retracting unit from the rollbar mount.
Do NOT....I repeat do NOT open the side that says do NOT open!!!

However you CAN open the other side (carefully not to lose bits).....
There you'll see the operating mechanism is really simple & probably just dirty....ie the ballbearing which creates the lockup is probably sticking....clean it up & reassemble...seriously 15minute job and really easy.....

But it goes against my male genes to not open something that says "Do Not Open"!

Will have to do this one day as my passenger one is starting give me the shytes.

Ando,

to fix the problem you do NOT need to open the side that says not to open.....seriously if you do ever have to open the side that says do not open do it for curiousity once the retractor is truely dead.......
I once opened the side that says do not open & I speak from experience .....It took me SEVERAL hours trying to manually rewind the spring that WILL come out in a big hurry if you ignore that warning.....

But for the other side there are no surprises - just be carefull not to lose bits....seriously it's a very easy clean/fix....
