Drove through that country side a few years ago on our way up to Bryce Canyon, pretty Awesome. Hired a mazda sedan, not the right thing for 4x4 driving.
Try doing it in a 25 foot motor home.
I tried to talk my wife it to letting me try driving a trial down to the valley floor while in Moab too but she wouldn't let me
