Mine has a shudder at very low speedc when cornering from stop. I run 31" tyres all the time and when wheel is turned at low speeds tyre lugs would rub on the plastic inner front guard lining. Since I tucked it all back into place properly it stopped doing it.

all up about $2800

but that was the axles, bearings, clutch pack, etc. Not sure how much the clutch packs alone would be.

98 Sport, I had a shudder when taking off from stop for ages when my Cherokee was young, took it to Hammonds (recognised Jeep experts in Brisbane) but they couldnt find anything...well the shudder was with me for about a year and suddenly disappeared, I didnt do anything at all, it just went!!!, no flaming idea what happened.
The shudder was very like what you can get with a crook clutch, could be heard and felt through the wheel but this is an auto.
Now, 130K later it has never returned!!
My Jeep is a real weird one, used to weep diff oil out of the front axle ends both sides, that has since stopped, there is an oil drip from the rear of the crankcase and despite being told I should get it fixed I have had it also for 130K, never needs topping up between changes either!!...this is truly a case of "Its a Jeep thing, you wont understand"....

BrisXJ,
Can your XJ teach my XJ how to fix itself?

The shudder I have only appears when the car has reached running temps, so I am going to do the major service and see of a change of lubes solves the problem.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Rick
