Gotta agree, I went to the VW dealer today to have a look at a Polo, 6.5lt/100 as opposed to the XJ with 16.2lt/100!!

Thought I'd also look at some small second handers as well.

Cheers

My next car will be a Golf 2.0 Sportline TDI 5.7l/100km. a 55lt tank will keep me going for about 2 x weeks.

Ditto that! My boss has the comfortline TDi in the 6 speed manual. What a ripsnorter!!!! Wheelspin all through the gear changes... bucketloads of torque! If I were in the small hatch maket and that budget, the only decisssion to make would be colour. Can't get better bang for buck than than the new golf. The boss gets about 1100 to 1200km per tank.

hi obelix, bought my 99 xj in 2003, private, with 230000 on the clock, mainly high way and i know it was serviced regular by Hammonds in brisbane. to date i've had to put in a new copper radiator, the plastic one split. i've added about another 25000 and i paid 15, thats all the dealers would offer as a trade. the engine still runs sweet and hopefully will do another 230000. i gotta go along with Brisxj
cheers Jeff
