We got our 40l off the site for $460 delivered to Melb - keep your eye on the site as they often have bargains as well as their "normal" discount site. Got a Thumper battery for about 40% of retail price too (only way to get a second battery with a WG CRD I'm afraid).

Carry spare fuses for the fridge though (inside the cigarette lighter plug thingy), ours blew half way across the Nullabor... but to it's credit with the cover on it kept the meat frozen for another two days even without power for any of that time.

Hi Guys,

A question on these fridges, they run off your 12v car battery? Wouldn't the draw of the current flatten the battery within a few hours?

Or are you all running like a dual battery setup to be able to power this thing?

Ta for the feedback chasps...

OZJ - ahh the wisdom on the handles. I was pretty impressed with their beef but I can see they make it quite a bit more bulky. Will see how I go in the ever-spacious Goatsack Yeah the zips a bit small but I guess its to keep more dust out than the bigger jobs... Yeah I read the 2 page destruction manual prety quickly.

Tonto disguised as tree - surely reversed polarity isnt so bad - once the smoke escapes I'm sure they work fine...or not FARK ! I assume you got your $$ back even with the stuffups so I spose thats something.

Le bomber - farg dude - thats a killer price !thought I was doing well. They were $899 with bag at the show so <$500 is sweet. Was it a 2nds or new ? any dramas ? Ta for the fuse hint too ! Two days no power is pretty impressive.

I have had my waeco 40 ltr for three years now I keep it in the bag and it lives in the XJ I normall run it on the third light (at bottom of freezer compartment it stays at -1 degree)
with twin batteries I have mine set on low (safety cut out) this equals 10.5 volts medium = 11 volts and high = 11.5 so that no matter what it will always leave enough guts in the battery to crank your donk.
Inever do the zip up around the top as how the sip is only YKK no 5 it will eventually crap out through constant use.
