I was pretty keen on a house up at Cromer but 1hr seems a bit to much, it would have to be a damn good place to live to justify it.

Cromer is OK - but bit of a hike - If you leave home by 6am - you could be in coogee by 6:45 ----- Leave much later and you could spend up to 1:30 in the car each way. I know I live in Cromer. Even though I grew up in near Coogee and now live in Cromer I honestly don't think I'd like to travel between Coogee and Cromer on a daily basis - especially in peak hour. Sydneys northen beaches is great but no trains, only buses. And its a bit of a pain to go from the Norhern Beaches to the Easter Suburbs.

Trust me if I had a choice I wouldn't be going to Sydney.
