Default Bike rack/carriers for the KJ

Hey all, I was looking at getting a Bike rack so the family can take our bikes out for a weekend. Since buying our Jeep, the bike rack we had won't fit because of the tyre on the door. Don't want to get one for the roof as they are not sensible for the wife.
Any suggestions to the best solution?
Cheers

There are adaptors available for some brands to extend the bike rack out beyond the spare wheel. Or you could get the type that mount on your spare wheel.

I'm currently having a similar dilemma...Whilst at the 4x4 show in melb' i came accross a carrier by 'rhinno' that attaches over the spare wheel and has 3 bike capacity. My only concern with this type of carrier is that it may damage the plastic spare wheel/number plate thingymbob, was thinking a little foam padding may solve this. Does look solid and would allow you access to the cargo area without the need to remove the bikes!!! Wonder how strong the tailgate is though as to whether it would be able to hold the weight of a couple of deadly's?

One of the other problems is that the tow bar doesn't come out far enough to go past the tyre, so that you can not put a standard bike rack on that. I rang my local Jeep dealer and they said you have to get a extended tow bar and that is a cost of around $800 (inc fitting)

I bought a longer hitch to get out past the tyre for my tow ball lock, which is one answer. The other is to drill another hole further in on the standard hitch. I have done that as well.
