Default Gen Light
96 xj 201070 Klms.
Gen light stays on
I have had the alternator rebuilt auto electrican says it is now in good working order.Gen Light still on.
What should I (spend money) test next?
Any suggestions??

Not sure if the gen lite is activated by the ECU or just a voltage sensor, but if the altenator is working OK, I'd be removing that annoying bulb..

Seems to me that if the sparky diagnosed the fault as alternator and charged you to rebuild it and problem ain't fixed it's his problem now.

Hey made.. i had couple of the solenoids fried on mine so only a few were charging the bat back up..

I got told if the light doesnt go off then the alternator is still not good.. Cos my mate who fixed mine said he fixed my alt, put it in, and it was only charging at 13v not 14V and the light stayed on. Took it apart and rebuilt it checking everything.. saw the problem and it went right back to 14V and the light went off.
