I agree you would be better off buying one already built from the 4 sale section on this forum. I know its more fun to build it yourself but at the end of the day your bank account will thank you.

Having had a 2001 TJ before which I built up myself I am leaning towards making this my own baby and also getting a car closer to new than most of those modified for sale on here, as this purchase is a substitute for the JK Rubicon I have on order.

Fair enough. I have mickey thompson classic lock 2's with baja claws fitted recently. For a rough indication i paid around $3500 for the lot.

In terms of suspension to run 33's the cheap way (if there is such a thing) of doing it would be to fit an OME 2 1/2" ($1200) lift and say a 1" body lift ($250). I am not running a SYE and still on the stock gearing with this setup which is just bearable for now.

Alternatively you could run a 4.5" rubicon express system which is a pretty complete system. As I have been looking into this and the cost is about $3400 plus another $500 for shocks. But you would need a SYE also.

In terms of suspension kits you cant really go wrong with rubicon express equipment and I know many people on this board would agree.

Hope that helps.

Forgot to mention if you plan on running a 12.5" wide tyre you will also be looking at having to get new flares. Around $800-900 for a set of warn 7" trail flares.

It would be very hard to give any indication on pricing for the mods as there are a few lift kits available in the height you want and they are all priced so differently. Same with the IPF's so many lights in the range. They even have HID's now if you want to spend that much. As far as plastic side steps go i would only use them if you never intend to take the vehicle offroad. Even then i wouldnt get them lol
