Default WJ compared to XJ - interior space?

While I love my XJ, it's a little squeezy now that we have a little one.

How much roomier are the WJs inside compared to the XJs? I stopped by the local Jeep dealer today but they didn't have any (!) for me to have a poke around in.

I've got one of each. WJ's got heaps more inside space (spare under floor in rear, further from boot to rear seat, wider body).

I don't know if I'd swap on space alone though, the straighter rear end of the XJ compensates slightly depending on what you're loading. Biggest advantage is the spare isn't taking up room.

Get a roof rack and move the rear tyre out would be cheaper and, in general, retain better off road capability.

I can sleep in mine if We need to, were not fatties and Im just under 6 foot and I get a great night sleep in the back of our WG

When I cant be bothered rolling out the swag,

In size there would be almost an extra 200mm in width and prob almost a foot in length, The seats still fault perfectly flat but depends how much more room you need

Go to http://www.carsales.com.au/ then select Research Cars, then Compare Cars. Select the cars that you want to compare an BINGO, all measurements are in there.

I tried downloading the measurements into this post but the columns aren't lining up properly.

I'm 183cm and I comfortably sleep in the back of the WJ when we go bush too.

Thanks guys. More interested in the cabin room rather than bootspace. Didn't know about carsales having that info!

Just had a look and while shoulder and hip room is up, leg room front and rear is virtually identical (WJ has 7mm more). Which is a pain, as that's what I was really looking to increase (legroom).

Big catch is that rear passengers can't fit feet under front seats. Annoys the heck out off me on the few trips in back.
