Default Door Misaligned

Hi all,

Recently my rear passenger door was smashed by a dirt bike, the door was open at the time, and its was pushed back to far. now the door is misaligned and its very hard to open and close. it wont open unless the front passenger door is open first. I've taken it to 3 different smash repair places and they have all said that its a very difficault thing to fix because the hinges are welded on. 2 places gave me a quote of $150-200, but they didnt know if they could fix it. Another one gave me a quote of $400-500 and that the hinges alone would cost about 100$. has anyone got any good advice, and has anyone had any experience with this kind of damage before. my jeep is a 1999 xj sport.
thanks

The XJ is a monocoque where the structural strength of the whole vehicle is in the body shell rather than a separate chassis. If you cannot open the rear door unless the front one is opened first, I would say that the whole body frame was distorted which may have compromised its strength. Is the front door harder to open than it used to be? I'd look at getting the whole body alignment checked by an expert.
