Default Olympic Rear Trunk installed.

Hey folks,

A quick post from me to show off the new hardware. I'm doing a bit of shooting and the Jeep wan't too good on security.
Looked into a few solutions but this was the best fit for me since I had to keep the back seat for the kids and fit in full size rifles. The under seat drawer types were too small and other trunks mounted to the wheel arches which gives a tiny trunk. This one sits on the top of the tub giving plenty of extra space.
Was a bit difficult to get the bolts in the cavity on the wheel arch but I got there eventually and am very happy with it. The quality is great and now I can lock stuff up in the car when the family are at the beach or out for a a shoot. Handy.

Arrival...

The box contents are good quality and well packed...

Installing the bolts will be tricky...

I took the weather strip off the rear window and glued it to the edge of the trunk which makes a nice seal. I am really happy with it.

Got it from the US and with the exchange rate being quite good it was about 400 bucks but peace of mind is worth it for me.

Cheers.

nice work mate.. i wouldn't mind having a secured area in the back..

but how do you go with the top down now, does it hang over the sides and catch the wind ??

Yeah with the top back it still sits below the line of the rear seat which is low enough for me. It doesn't tuck away as nice as it used to but the frame sits close to the trunk so it gets pretty low.
Usually I run with a bestop safari header but the bad weather recently had the full top on.
I really enjoy leaving stuff in my "boot" now.
