From my understanding, and I hate to correct people.

Traction Control never turns off, even when in Low Range.

ESP, Brake Assist and the Electronic Roll Mitigation turns off when in Low Range.

ESP is great, although it takes all the fun out of Dirt Roads!

If you want the fun back do the "ESP toggle switch" mod as desribed on the JK forum

I've done and it's very cool

As Adomw07 said about the toggle switch, or just pull the ABS fuse and watch the wheels spin! So if it had a LSD it would work on or off? I have a ARB locker and it still works the same as be for no change at all. Asimov is rite it never turns off ESP yes but not TC. PULL THE FUSE

Or you could just disable the ESP using the instructions in the handbook. Works for me... It's a pain but it makes a big difference - especially in the sand.
