bike carrier with rear wheel carrier

Hi guys

Ive recently got my hands on a 3 bike carrier from supacheap. I have a formula offroad rear wheel carreir on the xj. Even with the longest tongue from the local caravan place in kogarah it is still not enough to clear the carrier and wheel.

Just wanting to know if other peoplle have struck this problem

Ive been told that any fabricator with some 50mm tubing can make a length to clear the carrier with a hole on the end for the towball. If i was to do this i wouldnt tow when carrying bikes as it come out a fair amount to clear the carrier

Had 1 made recently by the trailer manufacturer in Sale, about $40, he made it about 18'' long, drilled holes for the pin and reinforced it, We also have a formula off road spare carrier on our 98 XJ. The later model Hayman Reese bars have a locking screw to stop vibration between the bar and tongue, it may be worth drilling and tapping a thread into the bar and fitting a locking screw.
