Default v8 into xj

hey guys need some help on deciding which v8 to put into my xj and what will be needed to buy -adaptors etc..
i really want a carby fed motor but.
any ideas pls - ohh yer its a 98 cherokee i have sitting out the back with a blown motor - it only cost me 850bucks so i thought i may aswell bugger with it - it allready has lsd but im gonna put in my spare gq rear diff otherwise i think a v8 would blow the stock one apart...

any ideas??

Gq diff will have a different stud pattern.... I think i have seen kits to change the stud pattern on xj diffs though.

i know that but thanks - umm mainly i am trying to find which engine will best suit the jeep...

interesting thread..... hmmm, V8 into chero.......
gotta be a 5.7 hemi doesnt it???? even though a sb chev would fit easier.
