Thumbs up vibration/rattle

1995 XJ Cherokee. a vibration/rattle underneath on left hand side only. sounds like it could be coming from around the side step/exhaust area. ONLY happens occasionally when reversing.
Anyone experienced this before?

Well the exhaust is mainly on the right so I would think it is the common complaint of the transmission mount going soft or even the left engine mount broken. Either lets the transfercase vibrate again the skid. Either that or you dropped the crossmember but not the skid as well.

yeah I reckon it will be the transfercase skid / crossmember vibrating against the transfer case. You can either drop it down with a few washers or take it off and restraighten it with a BFH.

Agree with Gojeep and Staffy,
Dont wait for your left hand engine mount to go, replace them every 100k.
I didnt and ended up shearing bolt heats on the left side engine mount. this really sucked.
