Default Radiator leaking

Hi guys

My radiator seems to be leaking from the bottom connection, does this mean a new radiator or could it be fixed? (see attached picture)

I had a quote for $ 580 for a new one including labor.

Cheers

Isnt that your tranny coolant line. They do share the same radiator. If so you might do a gojeep fix and get a small cooling coil and mount it seperately. Also provides better cooling for your engine as you dont have hot oil being cooled as well. Could save some $$$ Just a thought.

So it is the tranny cooling line? Its definitely leaking coolant and not oil, I just had to fill it up again.

Thanks for the tip DazzaXJ96.

It is the tranny cooling line, but just like mine used to, the "weld" or what ever it is has started to crack. Obviously the crack is on the coolant side of the fitting rather than the oil side.
My adrad cost me $430 but I fitted it myself. (It's easy, just bit fiddly at times.)
As for just using a new tranny cooler; that won't fix your leaking radiator. Coolant is leaking, not tranny fluid. And, as I've been told tranny fluid needs to be warmed as well as cooled so there was method in Jeep's madness running it through the radiator. If it were mine: I'd get a new adrad for whatever, but the $530 for supply and fitting sounds fair to me. (Assuming it's a decent radiator.)

Edit: Sorry, just re-read your post. It's my assumption that you meant it was leaking coolant, not oil. Hope I'm right.

No good if its coolant. If you do replace the radiator go with adrad rather than stock.
3. Leaking radiator
The stock radiator has plastic tanks, which may leak after about 150,000km. The best and cheapest resolution for this is to fit a full metal after market replacement. These are cheaper than replacing with the stock unit. Adrad make a quality unit, part number is JEE9001.C/A2. For details see: http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...ad.php?t=64886
