Default DC/Jeep contacts required

Hi fellow jeepsters,

I need some contacts within DC - urgently.

If you've read my other post - my jeep had warranty work done - and Jeep fudged it (big time). I originally had to wait 4 weeks for the parts to arrive from Never Never Land and I know that they'll quote me this again as the EGR valve is now completely cracked after their handy work.

I want to be ready when they tell me that the car is off the road for weeks so I can ring someone to get things done quicker - I have 10 days to sort this out as my problem is that I have booked and paid for a trip to Morton Island end of next week for 4 of us and if I they can't fix my truck in time I doubt Jeep will reimburse me for all my costs.

Don't post any names and number here if you don't want to so please PM me.

Thanks in advance hopefully.

You need to get the name and number for the dealer principle of the dealership you are having issues with.

You have photo's of the cracked valve, which will be proof enough. Because obviously, if they replaced it, it shouldn't look like that.

Explain your situation (Planned trip etc...) and demand that your vehicle be repaired asap. If you get the old "four weeks for parts to turn up" crap. Tell them to take a valve off another JK in the Yard. If they refuse, that's when you get tough.

Spend the 100 bucks or so, get a solicitor to draft up a letter stating that because of faulty workmanship and or parts, you now will be forfiting your paid for holiday. AND you will be seeking compensation for ALL costs involved. AND you will be sending a copy of the letter to DC (or who ever is running the show these days)

Rare commodity.

I can't believe that they carried out work to his car, left it outside to be picked up, they couldn't have possibly test driven it afterwards. Piss poor really. Doesn't anyone take pride in their work anymore?

I'm the last bloke (as you probably have read...) to be to concerned with all the JK's problems, but that would get me fired up....

Another thing that really pisses me off is the Sales Managers and other dealership management that seem to be the norm at these problem dealerships....

Seems to me, the second they have your cash, they flick you to the service department and wash their hands of any issues.

If I were running that place, I'd have the bloke who sold the car in the first place, the bloke who financed it (assuming he did) the service manager, the mechanic involved and the incorrectly named Customer Service person, in my office and asking what the hell's going on...

They all made money from the sale, they all have a responsibility to retain the customer and earn their bloody money keeping him happy. errrgghhhhh

That's why I happily hide away in a small used car yard. sick of DP's and General Managers looking at the spread sheet, and forgeting what they actually do.

If these tards actually looked after customers the way they are meant to, they wouldn't have to spend tens of thousands of dollars advertising, they wouldn't have to give away every cent to do a deal, people would gladly line up and put their money down on a new car knowing they would get the absoloute best experience both before and AFTERWARDS...

Sorry rant over...

4 weeks from anywhere on this planet is a Joke in this day and age.

I recently bought OME springs, 4 weeks from melbourne?? must have been by Camel..

In all seriousness, the manufacturer i work for can obtain parts from Germany, Singapore within 2 days if it is an urgent matter, such as this.

All parts out of Melbourne to brisbane is over night, any longer is a Joke.
order at 4pm, arrive next day at 10 - 11am.

4 weeks is the slow boat and must have been ordered on Stock order. they do have a faster method, but makes their books look bad. and costs.

looks like the valve in question wasn't seated correctly when the monkey tensioned the bolts, cracking the housing.

as OIIIO stated, demand they take it off one of their stock vehicles and inconvience themselves and not you.

Lay some Smack down mate!

Go into albion and ask to speak to Bob Muller. See if you get anywhere. If you have any dramas contact Daimler Chrysler Customer service on 1300 005 337. Generally while Service (Warranty) departments can be difficult they do have a responsibility to reapir and repair it quick.

Or do what I did and demand a courtesy car for the entire time they have your jeep, at no charge. Put the ball right back in their court, if you have one of their cars it will make them get off their arses and have your car ready sooner.
