The police report was in the post yesterday so called the insurance this morning, very easy
All I need to do now is get ONE quote for the repair, repairer emails quote and photo of damage to insurance and they get the go ahead to do the job

Does anyone know of a good repairer in Perth's northern suburbs ? One who might fit a steel bar instead of the plastic one

Pretty much any repairer should be able to do that provided you offer to pay the difference. They just get their bucks from the insurer - most often there is no hassle about what is done with it.

Paull & Warner on Newcastle St just did that exact same job for me a week or two back.

I dinged mine and paid the difference for aftermarket gear on mine, bumper wheels etc. I just rang my insurance and told them they were fine and so was the repairer

I was a bit worried about changing my insurance over to Budget Direct as they were so much cheaper than my other quotes ( $480 cheaper)
After dealing with them all I can say is it's the easiest insurance company I have ever dealt with
I needed one insurance quote which I could get myself or they would organise, no paperwork to be filled in, nothing to sign, just really helpful.

I ditched Budget Direct because there answer to am I covered off road is only if your driving is within the limits of what the car was designed to do. Which leaves too many avenues for them to reject the claim IMO.
