Default WG air con issue

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere ( i had a quick look but couldnt find)
Mods move if nessecary.

Basically my air con blows normal from centre 2 vents, very sloftly from drivers side and nothing from 2 passenger vents. I have a 2001 WG Grand Cherokee Ltd.
I have taken it back to the dealers 3 times now to have it fixed and each time I get told that it is working fine/nothing wrong. When the fan is on full it sounds like a blockage somewhere.
Obvously, with summer approaching I would like to get it fixed.
Does anyone have any ideas, or know where I could take it in Perth WA to get it fixed.

Thanks in advace

I had issues with air-cond last week & discovered it seems to be a common trait across several Jeep models.

May be worthwhile checking that that the vacuum hose doesn't have a split or has fallen off ... I reconnected mine & all was perfect. A dead give away of this is if your cruise control dies at the same time as the air-cond playing up.

I had a similar experience recently. There was like a blockage noise coming from the passenger side when turned on full. I opened up the blower unit and found the recirc flap had broken off and hence the noise. I took it out and now my A/c works fairly well on all vents. So, my guess is either your recirc door is broken or your blend doors are, which is located in the centre console.
If it is the blend doors, there are post here that discuss on this issue.

My 03 CRD has recently developed blocked vents (not blend doors - hot and cold work). Just that the fan is working but there is no air blowing out of the dash or footwell vents.

Sounds like it could be the recirc flap inside the blower unit. How difficult is it to split the blower unit?

Isn't it a MEGA job plus a task-and-a-half to access the bits that you've got to work on?........it's an easy fix, but a bugger of a job dismantling the dash to get to it.

Thanks Doc,

Did the pull apart (just pulled the fan out) and sure enough, the recirc door had broken off and fallen across the duct.

After forcibly removing the busted door ( and getting wounded! )I'm left wondering whether to leave no door, block off fresh air, or block off recirc air.

I've no plans to pull the dash, so any suggestions?

Looks like a hot summer!!!!
