I'll only flame you for trying bike specific freighters. They are done in either a van (as a friend has but he's sydney based) or enclosed small bike specific trailer and not thrown in with whatever else so that's why the quotes are high.

Daniel's probably your best bet, have used them a few times and great service, reliable and well priced.

Thanks. i tried to get a mountain bike freighted from sydney last year and got screwed around by alot of so called freight people until one was kind enough to point out Pioneer Bus Services has a flat rate of $25. I got quotes ranging up to nearly the cost of the bike. Ive been told to try places that do back loading but worried bout bike getting damaged. Will try Daniels? if I can find them.
cheers

nah Daniel runs Freight Mgt. They are good, might be having a hard earned rest at the mo, who knows.

Not sure if you can still send stuff by rail but that was once a cheap and reliable option.

Remember too you have weight and mass going against you when getting the quotes.

Actually, another, last resort as I wouldn't trust them are furniture removal's that also need backloads. I'd go with a known name though, not a dogdy advertiser.

Thanks all . Ive decided its not worth it. Why do I need to chase companies to try and get them to give a quote? If they dont want the business why advertise. A simple reply would be nice. I contacted 10-12 different businesses and got 3 replies. Thanks Freight management for a reply to say that you are busy at least. Ahh well money stays in my pocket I guess.
