just been looking at sidchrome pricing and theyre really not that expensive - compared to snapon that is, which their prices are a joke. also i noticed that some of the i suppose considered cheaper brands, arent that much less than sidchrome.

ive also found that because they have a lifetime warranty, buying from ebay isnt really a problem, i picked up aset of three 200mm pliers - combo, longnose and diag cutters for like 90 bucks, worth $165 in stores. and that was buy it now price. i mean thats 30 bucks each, stanley ones are like 20 something -yet these are ALOT better in precision and chroming, and general quality.

i got the sidchrome ratchet spanners at work but dont like em much cause they are too short, not sure if u can get longer ones but i'd say u can somewhere. the ones i have at home are J.B.S, u can also get kingchrome ones. they beat the hell outta having to use ya sockets all the time and weigh less so ya hands dont cramp up in the awkward spaces which ya get into when ya working under ya truck i'd stick with sidchrome, best value for money by far

Definately lifetime warranty stuff and I agree completely with the geared spanner suggestion - I grab mine 99% of the time now beofre the regualr spanners....will even dig in the tool pile to find them.

Yup. Personally I think Snap-On is a great product but silly for home wrencher (unless coming from Trade). Rememberthe tool might last for ages but you'll be kicking yourself if you lose the odd one (or someone pilfers it - eg kids). I think one of the best suggestion I ever got was to buy a complete set of relatively inexpensive tools - then replace the one you break with quality jobies as these are the ones you clearly are using the most.
Personally I mstly use Kingchrome as I think they are a good compromise between price and performance.
