Default Best stuff to stick rubber door cladding back on??

Hey, i'm not the biggest fan of the colour matched rubber cladding along the bottom of doors and panels on my 95 Limited. I've started removing it (the lines look much cleaner and more macho to my eyes without cladding) but i've run into trouble. The car has obviously had a hit at some point and underneath the rear passenger side door i found some bog and the paint underneath the cladding looks sh*thouse. All peeling and stuff. So i figure the cladding will have to go back on (on the doors at least). Whats the best stuff to use to stick it back on? I was thinking of some sort of double sided tape, is there anything more specific? Thanks all

You could try a good quality contact glue, or marine Sikaflex.

Double sided tape - get a good quality one.

Or, just fix the door properly and leave them off. What colour is your limited?

I would not use body filler as it absorbs moisture.
You have to use automotive double sided tape. The normal tape is not water proof or can handle the high heat.
Urethane is also used as does not eat the paint work like silicon can.

I got some auto double sided tape, so i'll have to give it a shot. Only thing is, it doesn't look wide enough (as in thickness) to me so i'll have to see how it goes. Might have to go to a panelbeater supplier if its not up to it. I'd love to have the door fixed properly but its not really worth it in my eyes. 10 bucks worth of tape versus at least a couple of hundred in labour and paint. Its the metallic green colour, moss green i think its called. Its probably not a bad idea having the rubber cladding on the doors anyway to stop imbecile soccer mums putting marks on them in the car park.

The stock tape was not wide either with two strips only about 16 mm wide top and bottom from memory.
