Default tyre size on CJ8 and diff Q

So what size tyres can fit on a stockish CJ8, its only got the extended shackles, i just have a set of 33s sitting there and i was wondering how much to big they would be if at all.... and the spare tyre carrier on the back door, how big of a tyre can fit on it?

or do i just get some 31" muddies?

AND how hard is it and how expensive is it to rebuild a LSD on a AMC 20?? mine seems a little sad

Mine has 33's.
Rub a little offroad at times.
Gearing should be 3.30:1 so it is a little high but workable.

Rear LSD in the AMC 20 can be a bit ordinary, if you want to spend the $, 1 piece axles and an auto locker would be worth it at the same time.
They aint that expensive these days, there are now way more brands around to choose from. I have a LOKKA and sme American Alloyy axles waiting for me to get home and fit. If I manage it I'll do rear discs at the same time.
Apart from that the AMC 20 is a damn solid diff, bigger than a 9 inch.
but the axles bust with 35s.....
