Head up Putty/Singleton Road from Richmond. Take the right hand exit(big Green sign to Colo/Upper Colo). Keep left for about 10km or so, or until you see the stop sign at Upper Colo Road. Follow this till the road becomes fire trail. At the end of the road make sure you take the fire trail straight ahead not to your right. The correct trail will take you down a windy decent to Wheeny creek camping ground.
Once you have reached the camping ground( with public toilets), cross the causeway(can be flooded after big rain ) and your on the Wheeny creek track!
The track should take around two hours each way, this is based on a larger group going through(one Jeep and too many Toyotas).
I hope these directions are okay, you should find it easily enough! I'd be happy to make another trip there some time soon!

Question

So, was bored the other day and decided to go for a sticky beak and see if I could fine these trails.

Followed the directions out there... heading north on Putty road to Upper colo road, where I head west along Wheeney creek.

Here's where it gets interesting. Upper colo road ends at private property. But going by previous directions, I know I've got to head towards Wheeny creek camp site. The only obvious route is along what's signposted as Mountain Lagoon Road (google maps calls it Comelroy road).

Now, this road does end up a Firetrail - The Mountain Lagoon fire trail. After a while, this ends up at a fork. Theres a signpost that directs you to the left, down to Wheeney Creek (3.1Km) south. This also fits in the directions in Isaac's posts.

But this is where I get stuck. Isaacs directions are that once you reach the camp site, cross the causeway. But, I got to the campsite after I crossed the causeway And from there, you only have the option to take Comelroy road back up the hill and outta there

So obviously I'm missing something... or taking a wrong turn. Where do the tracks start? Help!
